I am particularly interested in Goal Four: Quality Education. As a teacher this is a natural connection, but in addition to that I am part of a team working to bring sustainable education to Liberia. We are returning to Liberia in February to take the next steps in this plan; we will be sponsoring children and teachers at one school, with the hope of creating a model for other schools to follow.
I believe learning about global issues and topics, in the context of being a part of a global community, allows us to become engaged in our learning. This kind of engagement motivates us because we become invested with people both within our community and around the world.
